Every 9 weeks, a new season will begin, during which the game will be updated, including a new battle pass. The one that every second season propose a new herowhich players are you they have to unlock. If you buy the Battle Pass for 1,000 Overwatch Coins ($10), you’ll have immediate access to a new hero; alternatively it can be unlocked for free, but only at Battle Pass level 55. At this point, one can only guess how long it will take to get there. However, the battle pass should offer “only” 80 levels instead of the classic 100. So level 55 is somewhere around 3/4, not at the start, and will likely take a few weeks to complete.
But in the case of the first season, the situation is slightly different. The first two new heroes, Sojourn and Junker Queen, will be completely free. Kiriko will also be free for owners of the first Overwatch. If you miss the season, heroes can be unlocked retroactively by completing a few more unspecified challenges.
As with the Battle Pass, Overwatch 2 will of course include a number of cosmetic items. In addition to skins, highlight inters, sprays, emotions, etc. this also applies to new item types. For example, the names of player cards, weapon tags or “souvenirs”.
Among other things, we can also count on mythical skins or one each season, and these should be custom skins. We could see the first one, with Genji, before. It was just unknown if it would actually be part of the battle pass.
However, most of all stops the return. As you may have noticed, the Battle Pass rewards list does not include Overwatch Coins themselves. And there are only two ways to get them: you can either buy them right away or earn them by completing weekly challenges.. Of course, this would not be such a problem, but from the official image it can be concluded that in one season you can get a maximum of 540 Overwatch coins, which, of course, is slightly less than the required 1000. So you can get enough currency every two seasons, which corresponds to the interval of the appearance of new heroes, but still …
