This new Genshin Impact leak gives us a ton of new information about the collectible card game (TCG) surprise mode, including gameplay details, some rules, and even some card options for deckbuilding. Players will be able to create decks using card-based versions of characters, monsters, and more. TCG challenges players to defeat all opposing character cards to win the match. It’s a simple goal, but the mode could be Gwent from Genshin Impact if implemented correctly.
To start the game, both players draw five cards each and choose an active character from the three available character cards to lead. Active characters include actual playable characters like Fischl or Ayaka, as well as some elemental enemies like Electrohypostasis. The current list of active character options is subject to change as the card game is expected to arrive in version 3.3. However, it looks like there will be around 220 cards in total, with around 25 coming from the playable character roster.
After the draw phase, players take turns rolling eight elemental dice: one die for each of the seven game elements, plus one additional die that can be used as any element. During a turn, players can perform various actions, such as changing the active character, using the active character’s abilities, or discarding cards to change the element of a single die. So, to simplify this, cards are drawn, dice are rolled, actions are taken, and then the round is over.
There are apparently plenty of opponents to play against, including well-known characters like the aforementioned Fischl, who will be using himself as an active character. Some opponents, like Cyno, will even have “friendly” and “serious” modes that dictate the difficulty.
This card game mode is likely to stick around for a while, as the open world even features card-related challenges, earning gold character cards, rank-up ascension challenges, and a skill evaluation bonus system. for individual character cards.
The massive leak in question comes from none other than the well-known Genshin leader Ubatcha. They posted a series of tweets containing unknown details and some clarifications that were merged into a single Reddit thread.
After reading all these details, it sounds like a trading card game could be a real step towards the permanent new endgame content that fans have been clamoring for.
