Studio RGG uses not only a remake of the samurai action game Like a dragon: Ishinwhich was announced last night at State of Play and later confirmed in February for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC, as well as the all-new Yakuza.
The remake will run on Unreal Engine 4 and boast new textures and lots of graphical details. It beckons to a story set in the 1860s city of Kyoto, where a proud samurai’s fight for justice will change the fate of Japan forever.
“Draw your blade and join the revolution in this action-packed historical adventure” press release beckons.
The remake will definitely not be missed by many players, given that the original 2014 game never made it to us from Japan.
The eighth Yakuza was announced during the RGG summit. His name Like a dragon 8 (according to the American Sega, this title will also be in the West) and will not be released until 2024 on the PlayStation and Xbox consoles of the current and previous generations and on the PC.
We see in the trailer the return of the famous Ichibana Kasuga and it will probably show itself Kiryu Kazuma, albeit older and with a new graying hairdo. His appearance surprised many viewers of the presentation.
The presence of both characters was indicated by the developers themselves when they revealed that the two characters would guide us through the adventure. As previously announced, Yakuza 8 se holding consecutive battlessubmitted by Yakuza: Like a Dragon in 2020.
Kiryu appears in another game, a spin-off. Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Wiped Out His Namedue out in 2023. It will connect the plot of Yakuza 6 and 8 in action adventurewhich is about half the size of the main parts.
Seems like Sega wants to please everyone. You will still be able to roam the city and complete side quests. The story itself will be canon.
