Five months ago, independent Czech studio FiolaSoft announced a plan improve characters in the connector Matcha based on player feedback. In April, we saw the first results, which are now reflected in the revised story trailer.
To make it easier to see the details, here’s also a comparison between the original and the new version of the story trailer (below). A team of six (plus external staff) prepared new faces for all characters and new animations. For this reason, the developers they switched from Unreal Engine 4 to modern Unreal Engine 5.
“Our characters had problems with details. We quickly solved the ominous valley, mostly fixing the pupils of the eyes. But otherwise, it took us a quarter of a year to at least have time to implement all the add-ons that would then complete the “Feeling”. Philip Kraucher stated on Facebook, stating that they would no longer be changing it. They will improve the details only closer to the release.
“We really got a lot of feedback and got an incredible amount of advice from both developers and artists. Thanks!” Philip added. We must wait for the foreseeable future example of Czech dubbingextended action footage and a second story trailer.
Matcho is a first-person action-adventure game with a unique match-3 mechanic. Gameplay is built around fast movement, quick thinking, tagging three or more enemies of the same color, making connections, and watching enemies disappear in stunning explosions. This way you can create combinations that will result in a higher score. We wrote more about the game here and here.
Matcho itself will be released in 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
