Speculation about a new game in the Assassin’s Creed series has been circulating for quite some time, but in recent weeks we’ve also seen leaks that forced Ubisoft to prematurely announce the title. And at the Ubisoft Forward event, we received the first trailer and details.
Basically, all the leaks were confirmed, in Assassin’s Creed Mirage we will look at Baghdad in the 9th century, while we will play for the young Basim, who already appeared in Valhalla. His mentor Roshan, voiced by renowned actress Shohreh Aghdashloo, will also be an important character. The developers promise, as in the previous parts, that we will also meet real historical figures of that time.
In terms of gameplay, while Ubisoft hasn’t directly confirmed it, Mirage should be a return to its roots, which means shorter playtimes and fewer RPG elements compared to the last installments.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage will release in 2023 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. You can already pre-order the game on the official website. Several editions are available, including a collector’s edition.
