Call of Duty pro player Fifakill won the $100,000 Solo YOLO prize at the recent Warzone World Series North American Championship by defeating 119 competitors in an incredibly intense match on Caldera to become the Activision Battle Royale Champion .
Of all the competitions and game types in Warzone Professional Solo, the YOLO World Series is arguably the cleanest and most demanding. There are no teams, there are no rounds, there are no points. 120 players participate in a game of Warzone. The last survivor wins a prize. It’s a raw expression of the Call of Duty player’s prowess, and frankly, as far as recent contenders go, it’s almost impossible to watch.
Wearing the skin of Roze, Fifakill, a player from England, quickly picks up a few kills to get Armageurra and a riot shield. From there, Fifakill plays smart and slow as he makes his way through the mining camp and around the safe zone, picking up some extra drops and gear. They make their way to the vault and narrowly avoid the explosion before barricading themselves behind a group of Claymores and that valuable Riot Shield. It’s a tough game, but with $100,000 on the line, what would you do?
“It feels like the worst ending,” Fifakill says as they realize the last remnants of the Safe Zone are closing in on Storage Town, an incredibly cramped and cramped POI that moved to Caldera in Season 4. Here, they adopt an interesting way. tactic, fortify yourself in a tent instead of a solid building. “No one wants to be in a tent anymore,” they explain, “because you can shoot through it. I think we can relax.
Eventually though, with 11 members remaining, the gas forces Fifakill out of his tent and things get incredibly tense and hectic from there. We won’t spoil the ending, but even knowing that Fifakill will emerge victorious, it’s an amazing sight. You can see the full game below.
“$100,000 for winning a game of Warzone. OMFG! writes Fifakill. Twitter. “I will remember this moment for the rest of my life. Let’s go guys. “Come on,” wrote fellow CoD pro Aidan in response to the Fifakill win. “The smartest in the game, and he’s not even close.”
