Crystal Dynamics announced in an official memo that it has taken control of several franchises previously held by Square Enix, including tomb Raider And Cain’s legacy. These are obviously things the Japanese publisher has been working on over the past few years, when it was his first batch.
As a result, the franchises mentioned above are now owned by the new owner of the software house, Embracer Group.
As a result, Crystal Dynamics now owns these games and Control game and related personal data. The company is delaying its future plans to continue its adventure with the players.
There official note it’s very short but still interesting, because it not only marks the change of ownership, but also mentions two franchises in particular. It has been agreed by most that a new Tomb Raider is in development, but mentioning the Legacy of Kain series explicitly, thus highlighting it, shows that there is something at stake for him as well.
Embracer is not new to be released remastered versions or remakes of acquired games. We were recently able to try out the new edition of Destroy All Humans! 2 Reprobed, just to give an example. To make another one, we’ll soon be able to play the Gothic remake. Are Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain about to get the same treatment?
