Dead by Daylight-style multiplayer horror game: the new sequel to Monstrum

A new Dead by Daylight-inspired multiplayer horror game has just launched on Steam as a sequel to survival ghost fest Monstrum, in which four players battle a terrifying monster in a style also similar to Evil Dead and Friday the 13th: TheGame.

In the original Monstrum, you play as a lone survivor trying to escape from an abandoned freighter while being chased by one of many possible nightmare creatures. Partially procedurally generated, you’ll have to complete tasks in a different order while running and hiding to stay away from various hellish creatures that want to rip you apart.

Released on Steam after leaving Early Access, Monstrum 2 draws more inspiration from asymmetrical multiplayer horror games like Dead by Daylight, Evil Dead, and Friday the 13th, featuring four players as survivors and one as a half-monster of the same. Name. The setting, an underwater research facility called Hong-Sha Miller, changes procedure every time to keep everyone constantly guessing. You can customize both your survivor character and your personal versions of predatory monsters, and the focus is on collecting items and solving puzzles to survive, adding a bit more depth than just fixing generators in DBD.

The levels look fantastic, seemingly inspired by Bioshock’s clumsy mechanized dystopia of Rapture, while the monsters are fearsome Eldritch hellspawn with a variety of abilities and stats. If you buy Monstrum 2 within the first week of its release, you can also get a 10% discount, which is well worth it for fans of quality survival horrors.

Speaking of which, you might want to take a look at some of the other best horror games on PC, or maybe some of the best multiplayer games around.
