Unknown Worlds and Krafton have announced a series of pre-tests for Moonbreaker that will launch ahead of the strategy game’s early access on September 28. gives you access to the entire game except for select parts, as well as all Unknown Worlds units and captains planned for the first season of the game. Progress won’t save though, at least not with units, as Unknown Worlds said you had to unlock them again as usual in the early access version.
As the trial periods include the entire game and its features, this means that you can create your lists as you see fit, color them and customize them. While units will not carry over to the Early Access version, your paint jobs will carry over if you purchase the game.
However, don’t expect a totally smooth ride. Since the purpose of the tests is to push the servers to their limits, the developers said that crashes and other issues are almost guaranteed.
To sign up for the Moonbreaker preview period, go to the game’s Steam page and click “Request Access” in the “Join Moonbreaker Playtest” section.
Moonbreaker aims to be unique from other board games, while also being more accessible and deeper than others. Part of that depth comes from the stories of the characters.
“We have stories for each captain, but you understand that all the captains’ stories are intertwined,” game director Charlie Cleveland told PCGamesN previously. They are being released as audio dramas and the team hopes that they can appeal to a wide range of gamers and tastes while appealing to a wider audience due to the success of their previous game Subnautica.
