Diablo Immortal’s gangs could benefit from a new wave of defense mode, as a recent analysis of Blizzard’s RPG data suggests changes to the party system on a smaller scale, though players argue it should be scrapped altogether. .
Clans in Diablo Immortal are made up of 150 players and teams are made up of small teams of eight players from the same clan. You receive additional rewards for completing certain content together, but this content is locked to any raid that doesn’t have a full set of eight players, meaning each raid member must be online at the same time to complete these tasks.
As stated above, this has been frustrating for Diablo Immortal players in the past, who have stated that they might have preferred the team feature to be removed altogether. However, that doesn’t seem likely, as the new Diablo Immortal database suggests that Blizzard is planning more team content in the future.
Cyrangar Defense appears to be a new wave defense mode designed around squads where players will fight increasingly dangerous enemy mobs in a bid to survive and earn rewards. The rumored mode was discovered by sanktanglia, a data collector who posted on the Diablo Immortal Discord, and appears to come in two variants.
In the “normal” “Defense of Sairangar” mode, the team leader chooses the time when the rest of the team will complete the task once a week and face eight waves of enemies, with rewards increasing with each subsequent wave. In “endless” mode, enemies attack endlessly, the goal is to prevent them from knocking down the outer city gate. The top three teams in each Weekly Endless Event will receive special rewards. Enemies in Defense of Cyrangar appear to line up and scale based on which squad members will receive lesser rewards if they leave the mode during gameplay.
It’s unclear exactly when this mode might be released, but Diablo Immortal players have expressed doubts as to whether it will fix issues with the team system. “It’s hard to get a gang to make a boss in three minutes,” one user wrote on the game’s subreddit. “Imagine an endless mode.” “Impressive,” writes another, “more unique content for the worst game mechanics.” .
