A new Apex Legends leak points to a new mode of transportation that looks suspiciously like the old Battle Royale train, only much better. Redditer shocker_103 pointed out what appeared to be raised rails scattered around the leaked Split Moon map. The map is probably one of Respawn’s best kept secrets right now. A top view was leaked in March 2022, and some early test images have surfaced recently. It wasn’t until after the commotion was posted that anyone noticed the intersecting lines in each frame.

Some commentators hope that the leak will turn out to be some kind of cable car, although the structure looks more like a monorail or, as others have pointed out, an elevated set of train tracks. If you entered Apex after Season 6, you may not see the value.
In the early seasons of the game, Respawn included a train that traveled around the map, but geographic and space restrictions meant that while it was a unique addition, it created more problems than opportunities. The space required meant that most of the space around it had to be left empty. Respawn felt that they had reduced the chances of creating interesting encounters and removed them in 2020.
Gondolas have replaced the train and provide exciting opportunities to alter your battle strategy or ruin your opponent’s strategy. Creating a series of elevated rail tracks solves the original problem and hopefully makes the old frantic rail battles possible, where teams rushed up against a small, fast-moving object and fought to the death.
