Skyrim is all about dragons, so it seems reasonable that you could eventually become a dragon, and now a new Skyrim mod lets players transform into one of many different forms of werewolves in an RPG. Each dragon variant has its own advantages and disadvantages, and the mod also includes its own perk tree that allows users to use dragon souls to increase their lizard power.
KataPUMB’s Feral Dragon Avatar mod adds a new unique scream to the open world game that can be obtained through a small quest unlocked after reaching level 10. The “Fel-Dov-Aan” scream can be used to transform. in the scaly form of a welt. Previous mods have adapted the game’s werewolf form to achieve the same effect, but KataPUMB says of this approach, “It works, but not the way I want it to, so I did.”
Once in dragon form, you can use any combination of shouts and minor abilities, and you also have the ability to loot items and items without having to transform back into your humanoid form. However, you cannot equip items or spells other than shout and voice abilities while you are a dragon. Perhaps the funniest thing is that the NPCs will recognize your new form, which means that the guards will treat you like a dragon and address you accordingly.
Before transforming, there are several potential dragon forms to choose from, which KataPUMB says are inspired by designs from the Pathfinder fantasy RPG. You can choose between the classic red dragon, the noble silver dragon, the vicious black dragon, the cunning blue dragon, the virtuous bronze dragon, the acid-spewing green dragon, or the shimmering pink time dragon.
Each variant has its own elemental breath attacks, weaknesses, and resistances, as well as three special abilities. For example, a silver dragon can absorb spells and deal additional damage to undead or Daedric enemies with its silver claws. Perhaps most intriguing is the Time Dragon, which can “tear at the fabric of time, dealing unstoppable cold damage” and enjoy a more effective “time slow” shout that further slows enemies without affecting your character. .
Additionally, there is a separate and independent perk tree that affects your strength in dragon form. Dragon souls are used as currency, giving players more reason to hunt as many dragons as possible to increase their own power. Additionally, many of the perks scale based on the number of unused Dragon Souls you have, which can lead to some incredibly powerful values.
KataPUMB notes that the perks “reach reasonable levels when you have between 1 and 100 Dragon Souls”, but that excess will make you a nearly unstoppable force of nature. At the top of the perk tree is an ability called Silsejor’s Celebration, which allows your avatar dragon to devour entire mortal souls to regenerate health. We can’t wait to try it!
The mod doesn’t change any of the base game’s entries, which is why KataPUMB says there shouldn’t be any compatibility issues. They recommend installing a few more mods, including “Dragon Aspect” to add bigger dragon wings to your model, and “Beta Flying Mods” to let you fly.
