Servers for many older Ubisoft games were supposed to be down today. But the French publisher decided to postpone the closure and move it to 1.10. this year, including multiplayer for several parts of Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Driver San Francisco and Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.
“Removing online services for legacy games is not something we take lightly, but it is also a necessity as the technology behind these services becomes obsolete,” Ubisoft said. “We want our players to be able to enjoy an optimal gaming experience without breaking anything or exposing players to crashes and security breaches. At the same time, we want this process to be as smooth as possible for our players. Over the past month, our teams have been working hard to learn how we can reduce the number of violations.”
This will also be possible until October 1 activate additional content for single player for PC versions Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed 3 (2012), Far Cry 3 and Splinter Cell Blacklist. Once activated, the DLC can be downloaded at any time. Console versions are not affected.
Ubisoft has also confirmed this strategy Anno 2070 will receive an update, which will allow you to play the game, whether in single or multiplayer mode, even after October 1, 2022. According to the developers, it should be even smoother than before. They changed the name to 64-bit versions, so it can use all of your computer’s RAM. New online services, in turn, should provide a better search for partners.
The only game that will lose support today is the one space junkies for PC (HTC Vive, Oculus). In April of this year, Ubisoft disabled the multiplayer portions of games such as Avatar, Rainbow Six Vegas, and Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
