Sony and Tencent invest in the creators of Elden Ring

Interesting news comes on the last day of August. Companies Sony as well as tencent increased their holdings in FromSoftware and together own through thirty% the creators of Elden Ring with a total value of 36.4 billion yen.

After the deal, Sony will own 14.09% of FromSoftware, while Tencent will own 16.25%. FromSoftware parent company, Kadokawa Corporation, will retain 69.66% of the shares. So there’s no reason to think that the Japanese studio’s future games will be PlayStation exclusives.
