Hyena developers collaborate with drag queens on Axia

Creative Assembly is hard at work developing its own vision for a futuristic sci-fi shooter in the form of Hyenas, the first non-strategic game it’s been researching since 2014’s Alien: Isolation. zero gravity, tons of popular culture loot theft, and even crossdressers.

With a large wig and larger health pool, Axia is one of Hyena’s tanky characters and is literally here to kill. Speaking to The Loadout at Gamescom about Axia’s development, product director Alex Hunnisett said the studio is working “hard” with the drag community to bring it to life in a way that feels “real and representative”. .

While Creative Assembly hasn’t specifically revealed who she worked with on Axia (although she looks suspiciously like Trixie Mattel and looks suspicious), Hunnisett says she’s not only visually stunning, but also hilarious. “Some of the simple lines he comes up with are great and really fun to play – he’s my favorite character.”

While drifting is rarely seen in video games, the art form has permeated popular culture, making it a perfect fit for Hyenas. As for improving overall representation, Hunnisett notes that the studio is in talks with the right communities for each of the characters, not just Axia.

Although Axia is not on the catwalk anytime soon, it has already appeared on our screens for the first time. Hyena’s alpha last weekendHe predicts that the full release date of Hyenas will fall next year.
