On the night of Monday to Tuesday, the AMD conference took place, marking the beginning of a season full of next-generation product announcements. The event called “Together we promote_PC” was dedicated to new processors. Ryzen 7000 and socket AM5bringing all the necessary information.
The new processors are built on the architecture Zen 4which uses 5nm process from TSMC. Compared to the Ryzen 5000 series, the new generation has approx. 13% higher IPC and ao 800 MHz higher maximum frequencywho stopped at the number 5.7 GHz. Compared to the Intel Core i9 12900K, it offers better performance in games and even faster performance in work applications. However, it must be added that this is a current generation product, Intel has not yet introduced its new processors.
Further Ryzen 9 7900Xwhich boasts 12 cores/24 threads, up to 5.6GHz and 76MB cache, again at a TDP of 170W but at a price $549.
The golden mean will Ryzen 7 7700X with 8 cores/16 threads, up to 5.4GHz, 40MB cache and 105W TDP. All this for a price $399.
The youngest of the presented models Ryzen 5 7600Xwhich will offer 6 cores/12 threads at up to 5.3GHz, 38MB cache and a TDP of 105W again. $299.
All models also include an integrated graphics chip based on RDNA 2. and they go out September 27.
As for the boards, I’ll just remind you that socket AM5 is supported. PCIe 5.0 and memory DDR5. AMD is preparing four sockets: X670, X670 Extreme, B650 and B650 Extreme. The base series and those marked “Extreme” differ from each other by supporting the already mentioned PCIe 5.0. Bye X670 and B650 have an interface implemented only for NVMe SSDs, X670E and B650E also boast support for video cards.. In any case, this will also affect their price.
You the lowest models should start at $125.. Like both series with the letter “X” will be the first to enter the market, this will happen in Septemberwhen the processors themselves will be released. Per DDR5 RAM was the announcement of a technology called Expo. This is about special overclocked profile, which will be available on select memory modules from Adata, Corsair, Geil, G.Skill and Kingston. He must offer 11% faster playback performance at Full HD resolution and lower latency.
The company has also confirmed plans for Ryzen 7000 processors with 3D V-Cache to arrive “sometime later.” The Zen 4c architecture for servers is also scheduled for the first half of next year. Zen 5 should arrive in 2024.
At the very end of the conference, we were treated to a demo of Lies of P running on a Ryzen 7 7950X processor and an unspecified RDNA 3 graphics card. However, we will have to wait a few weeks for the new generation of graphics to be presented.
