Today, the Mafia series celebrates 20 years since the release of the first part, which is one of the most famous Czech games of all time. It was followed by two from 2010 and a not very popular trio, which was already being created under the banner of the American studio Hangar 13. In 2020, a remake of the first part was released, but it did not look like a full-fledged sequel. .

However, in recent months, speculation has begun to surface about a proposed fourth installment, which should be a prequel to the first, set in Sicily. And while we can’t be sure yet, we’ve already confirmed one thing. A new mafia is indeed in the works, Hangar 13 studio confirmed it in a short tweet.. In addition, however, an interview with the developers of the first part was published, which is also available in Czech, and you can read it here. At the very end, Roman Hladik stated the following:

“I am happy to confirm that we have started work on a brand new Mafia project! While it’s still a few years away and we can’t say more right now, we’re thrilled to continue working on this popular series and keep our players entertained with new stories.”

Details will probably have to wait for quite some time, but even this brief announcement is sure to please fans.

And that’s not all, the developers decided to post the first part for free on Steam on the occasion of a significant anniversary. It will be available from September 1st to 5th..
