Diablo Immortal Clans Battle Over PvP As Players Demand Server Merge

Diablo Immortal players are expressing concern over the seemingly low user count across all regions, as clans struggle to find enough users for PvP and PvE modes, and players ask Blizzard to consolidate RPG servers.

Released in June, the MMORPG Diablo Immortal for mobile and PC received mixed reviews and some sidelong glances at its microtransactions. , with some players even then concerned about Blizzard’s possible overconfidence in player counts.

Shortly after the release of Diablo Immortal, a Reddit user wondered if Blizzard had overestimated the number of players it would accept on its many servers, asking, “Is it just me, or did Blizzard overestimate expectations?” [sic] your own game? before also mentioning the possibility of a “server merger soon”.

Having options when choosing a server is usually a good thing: fewer crowds and no need to queue at the server when connecting. It also happens the other way around. When a social game like Diablo Immortal doesn’t have enough players to maintain a healthy social environment, things like clans and in-game events can feel a bit pointless.

More recently, however, players have been sharing examples of low player counts on their servers, with some of them illustrating how even the top ten shadow clans can’t find enough users. With that said, players are asking Blizzard to consider merging servers, increasing the player population and, in theory, creating a more social experience for everyone involved. “Server merge soon?” offers a player Diablo Immortal. “I can’t even get into the top ten shadow clans.”

For Diablo Immortal to function properly, all of its servers must count the player’s health; the marketplace is a great example of this: items will only sell if there are enough users to create demand, and the selection on offer will be slim if there’s no one to sell your loot to. One Reddit user commented: “I’m on Hellfire and the market is dead here. I have been trying to sell 2/5 and 3/5 gems for several days but no one is buying.

Apparently finding other players in dungeons was also a problem: “Finding players in dungeons is getting harder and harder, and while the switch to H4 has helped, it’s going to get slow again.” New players may find themselves doing low-level quests on their own, while those more familiar with the game simply won’t get the help they need to get through the more difficult dungeons.

There have been no reports from Blizzard about a potential server merge. However, several other Diablo Immortal players expressed a different MMO experience, stating that their servers do not have low population issues. “Ours is always filling up,” one user wrote on the Diablo Immortal subreddit. “I feel incredibly lucky,” said another. My server feels very much alive from the beginning.” However, the same player adds that “there should be a server merge”.
