Battlefield 2042 Season 2 is about to begin. The second season of the multiplayer FPS game, just like the first, will add a new map, a new specialist character, as well as several new weapons and vehicles that can be unlocked in the new Season Battle Pass. This is what you can expect when Season 2: Master of Arms begins on August 30.

First, here’s the new Stranded map. It takes place around a freighter stranded at the bottom of a dry lake in Panama. There’s a helipad on one side of the ship, and plenty of cargo containers and makeshift hideouts scattered around to provide cover for mid-range firefights.

The ship itself has become a hangout and showroom for a group of black market arms dealers, and it’s where new specialist Charlie Crawford fits in. Crawford, a former MI6 agent, has played both sides of the fence in almost every situation he has found himself in. they met, usually looking for a private corner to work. He is a support specialist and can summon a Vulcan machine gun mounted with a ballistic shield, and his trait reloads ammo for allies’ gadgets when he revives them.

Season 2 also introduces new weapons. There’s the AM40 assault rifle, a carbine-style weapon that straddles the line between AR and SMG. Then there’s the AVANCYS LMG, a machine gun designed for maximum mobility and accessory compatibility. Finish off with the PF51 pistol, a boxy pistol with a very large magazine.

Two new vehicles will join the Battlefield 2042 fleet in Season 2. It’s the EBLC-RAM, a four-seat heavy ground vehicle equipped with armor, turrets, and an AMP capability that deflects incoming projectiles when enabled. EBLC-RAM can also use a Tactical Beacon that allows teammates to spawn in their place.

EA/DICE says you can also find the Polaris RZR on some maps, a lightweight two-seater buggy that you can race at high speeds. It doesn’t offer anything else in the way of protection, so make sure you keep your foot on the gas.

Season 2 will also see some additions to Portal. Another batch of classic weapons from Battlefield 1941, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3 are added, and players will be able to use the new “very small” battle spaces when designing modes. EA/DICE is also adding a custom Conquest preset so you can start there and make adjustments for new rounds of Conquest.

Some weapons previously only available in Portal will be coming to All-Out Warfare this season via the quest system introduced in the last dev stream. Through quests, you can also unlock content that you missed out on in previous season passes.

EA/DICE also revealed that a revamped version of the Renovation map is coming in Season 2, so expect more cover and rough terrain breaking up the long lines of sight in Egypt next month.
