The NexusMods website has banned an openly homophobic modder for posting one mode from Marvel’s Spider-Man which removes rainbow flags from the game. Of course, we’re talking about the only PC version that can be modded.
Some people dislike the presence of rainbow flags in Marvel’s Spider-Man’s New York because of their overtly political connotations. In reality, there aren’t many, especially when compared to the overwhelming majority of American flags. get as much as possible moderator This apparently even bothered a few people, as the person hiding behind the “Mike Hawk” puppet account decided to replace them with other US flags in a mod uploaded to NexusMods, a reference site for modders from all over the world. Work for very new games like Stray and of course Marvel’s Spider-man.
Site administrators removed the mod and fake account banned and the modder’s main account has caused some discontent in the community, while some view the measure as overly harsh. That’s why Nexus Mods has decided to respond with a message explaining the situation, its point of view, and once again explaining the rules of the site.
“Speaking of ban, which many focus on, the mod was installed from a dummy account named Mike Hawk (a brand new account created by someone who already has an account on the site). It was obvious how the mod was made for trolling. Being a coward, the fact that the user had to create a fake account to install the mod made it clear that he knew his intentions as a troll and doing something that was not allowed. If he wasn’t a coward and used his main account we would have removed the mod and told him we didn’t want to host it, but ban him if he reinstalled it after the warning. The creation of the dummy account cleared all doubts and made our decision very easy.“
Related contents In the mod’s description, NexusMods reiterated that this is for diversity and inclusion, and that it will take action whenever mods that go the opposite way are installed: “As a private company, we have the right to choose what content we want and don’t want to host on our platform. Respect that right as you want your rights to be respected.”
The message is closing, inviting those who are angry with this election to delete their accounts.
