There official statement to read: “The Great War: Western Front I.
“Choose a faction and lead your armies to victory by engaging them in terrifying real-time battles and making key decisions in the game’s turn-based strategy component. Dig elaborate trenches, research new technologies like poison gas and tanks, and make decisions that will affect you. It will have a profound and lasting impact on your success. Think like a commander to relive or rewrite history.”
“The battlefields are permanent, and as you advance on the Western Front you can revisit some areas that still bear the scars of past wars. Bombings, open craters, tanks and trenches spoil the once lush countryside. The French and any trenches (or fortifications you’ve already built) It will still be there waiting for you. The dynamic climate also plays an important role. As the conflict continues, you will encounter different weather conditions such as snow and rain, which will affect the artillery and the movement of the troops. You will need to work out a strategy that takes all these variables into account to ensure victory.”
