Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord is an ambitious project. For the uninitiated among you, think Total War’s global world map and battle management combined with The Witcher 3’s hacking, talking, wandering medieval life, and after accessing it for over two years, courtesy from Gamescom, finally has a full release date. .
Announced at Gamescom by Turkish developer TaleWorlds Entertainment, Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlords will launch simultaneously on PC and consoles later this year. After a tumultuous period of development, Armagan Yavuz, CEO of TaleWorlds, seems pleased with the progress the team has made:
“These two years have been a long and difficult journey. Developing a massive and complex game like Bannerlord across multiple platforms in the midst of a pandemic is no easy feat, and I’m incredibly proud of our team for their tireless and brilliant work.”
Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord launches for PC and consoles on October 25, with pre-orders starting today. The extent of the cross-platform functionality is not yet clear, but the developer mentions in a statement today: “We found a lot of synergies that we didn’t initially expect between consoles and PC.”
For those still playing the Early Access version of the game, TaleWorlds is committed to updating you until the full release of Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, so expect additional features and bug fixes to be rolled out in the coming months.
