First Descendant’s open beta dates were confirmed shortly before the Gamescom reveal, and a new trailer shows off the epic boss battles and skills you’ll need to master to defeat the giant creatures. The free-to-play co-op loot shooter, apart from the lovely scripted mangoes, seems to be in good shape, with Destiny 2 and Monster Hunter inspired RPG and FPS gameplay.
The trailer is the first detailed look at what happens in The First Descendant’s boss battles – looking like a cross between Destiny 2 and Monster Hunter, the cooperative shooter shows great teamwork with the latest video, in which each player character takes on a specific role in the team.
Each of the four characters we see in the video has a completely different set of abilities that MMO players will be very familiar with – finding balance in your team, combined with teamwork, will be key to defeating enemies. hardest in the game. Based on information from the trailer and a bit from developer Nexon Games, the first four playable characters we see are:
- Lepik is a versatile fighter with guns built into his arms.
- Viessa: Weakens enemies by freezing the air around them.
- Rabbit is an exceptionally fast character with electrical attacks.
- Ajax is a tank capable of warping space.
Combat is frenetic and tactile, and the grappling hook is used to its fullest. It is interesting to note that the enemy it is object, so being able to grab and move different body parts should make for some interesting battle plans.
The First Descendant open beta has been confirmed to start on Thursday, October 20 at 8:00 GMT for one week. The beta will feature 10 playable characters with no further information on who or what they might be.
