PlayStation’s Gravity Rush will also feature a movie produced by Ridley Scott
Gravity-defying adventure is the latest video game IP Sony Pictures wants to adapt.
In May 2019, Sony Pictures announced the creation of the PlayStation Productions label; this is a statement by the big Hollywood of their intentions to bring some series from the video game division to the small and big screen. Uncharted has since hit theaters, and HBO’s The Last of Us is coming soon, but the company has other IPs in mind.
For example, developing a Gravity Rush movie. The video game looks forgotten by PlayStation Studios today, even more so after Japan Studio changed it, but that doesn’t necessarily indicate Sony Pictures’ low desire to turn the “gravity-defying adventure” into one of its ongoing feature films.
According to information from Deadline, which has always been one of the main movie portals, Sony Pictures, Scott Free Productions (founded in 1980 by Ridley Scott and Tony Scott) to be made into a movie Video game played by KatAn amnesiac girl with the ability to manipulate gravity.

The project is going well and Anna Mastro (The Secret Club of Non-Heirs to the Throne) and Emily Jerome have signed on as directors and screenwriters, respectively. No further details are known at this time, but Deadline states that Sony Pictures is not required to distribute the film; i.e. it may reach a streaming service directly, but nothing more can be said at the moment.
In the meantime, you can also check out the analysis of Gravity Rush: Remastered for PS4. The original title was released on PS Vita. Who knows, with the development and potential success of a movie, PlayStation will be encouraged to give continuity to the IP.
PlayStation Productions’ interest in the movie Days Gone, which already has a hero and a screenwriter, was also shared on Deadline recently.
