Czech studio Madfinger Games didn’t do well last year

The job of a game developer is very demanding most of the time. Development costs a lot of resources, and the pressure during it increases rapidly. The Brno studio Madfinger Games went through a very difficult period last year. Sales were not as strong as initially expected, and so losses increased. As the mobile market expanded, so did the competition (Diablo Immortal, CoD Mobile) for games made by this company, which was primarily focused on mobile devices. The total current losses are about 21.7 million crowns. However, the company still has 85 million retained earnings, so the situation is not so bad.

In future development, the ability to cover $35 million in labor costs and the overall expansion of the company will now be assisted by a minority shareholder in Nuverse. The latter is part of ByteDance, the technology company behind the TikTok platform. The Chinese company has invested five million euros in Madfinger Games.
