Supermassive Games is primarily known for its mountain story games that are relatively close to interactive cinema, whether it’s the PlayStation exclusive Until Dawn, the Dark Pictures anthology, or their latest work Quarry. However, not all of the developers involved in the earlier games stayed with the studio. Some have already left the British team and founded a new studio called Ballistic Moon. Although he has had an official website for a long time, he does not introduce himself publicly. However, recently Insider Toumari went through all available sources and found a lot of interesting information.
The studio is supposed to be working on a big project, but it’s in the early stages of development. The team is between 35 and 40 people, but is still recruiting and will soon move to larger offices. The game is codenamed “Project Bates” and is being developed on Unreal Engine 5. It’s supposed to be published by some big company, and Tumari even revealed what it is. Filming recently began on motion capture (director Joshua Archer, who also worked on Until Dawn) and one of the actors apparently accidentally revealed that Sony was involved in the game as a publisher. That’s why the game will be released exclusively on the PlayStation 5.
An insider suggests that this could be another Survival Till Dawn-style horror game. However, we will probably have to wait for official information for a while.
