Marvel’s remastered Spider-Man seems to be the second best start on Sony gaming PCs. Spider-Man’s open-world adventure from Insomniac Games attracted fewer gamers on release day than God of War’s Scandinavian adventure Crato.
According to SteamDB, within 24 hours of release, Spider-Man reached 64,893 concurrent playerswhich is less than 10 thousand less than was recorded on the day of issue on god of War (73,529 players). Zero Dawn Horizonwhich was the first major PlayStation Studios game for PC, drew 56,557 players.
The PC port of Spider-Man was handled by Nixxes. He’s also preparing Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PC this fall. Uncharted: Thief’s Legacy Collection is also coming to PC from Sony, and signs point to a Returnal shooter.
MULTIPLAYER CONSIDERED?
The game files for the PC version of Spider-Man suggest that Insomniac Games may have been working on a multiplayer game at one time. This is evidenced by the files “Enhanced Spider-Man”, “Player 1”, “Player 2” and the red and blue team.
According to the documents, she was multiplayer is seemingly separate from the single player campaign and it was initially unavailable, suggesting that the multiplayer must be unlocked by the player or downloaded as additional content.
The second player will play as Miles Morales and use his unique abilities. PvP and PvE modes should have been included in multiplayer.
