The Elden Ring patch notes for update 1.06 revealed several changes to the invasion and summoning systems that effectively transform the cooperative experience in From Software’s RPG, which was also tweaked to change the effectiveness of dodge and roll.
Version 1.06 adds the ability to send summon tokens to summon groups in multiple remote environments, meaning you can summon yourself while summoning others from a much larger area. Basically, you can now be summoned to any Marker you’ve previously visited, which means finding a co-op player will be much quicker and easier. However, invasions have also undergone a similar change. While the patch notes themselves are pretty vague, simply saying that From Software has “added a feature to invade a large area, including outlying areas”, it goes without saying that the same rules that now apply to summoning groups also apply in reverse, that is. that in addition to summoning any previous scarecrow to play co-op, you can also invade any previous scarecrow to challenge a rival online.
The Elden Ring single player mode is also getting some minor but significant changes thanks to changes to the most important rolling mechanic. The time it takes for a roll to become possible after making an attack has been reduced, meaning you can land a hit and then get out of the way faster than before. You can also roll more when you have a light load of equipment, and the time between attack and spin has also been reduced when using a large axe. However, this does not apply to jump attacks, two-handed attacks, and mounted attacks.
In addition to the new faster roll, you can help yourself survive the many challenges of the Elden Ring by using our guide to all the Elden Ring bosses in order. You can also try something completely different from our list of the best RPGs. Otherwise you can find full Elden Ring 1.06 Patch Notes down:
