Although this is the first game for As Dusk Falls Interior/Night, it’s clear that the studio has some true innovators in its ranks who can create unique storytelling experiences in games. In fact, this was one of the aspects we highlighted in our As Dusk Falls review. And the studio has made it clear that it has no intention of giving up its love of storytelling.
Speaking to The Loadout, Interior/Night CEO and Creative Director Caroline Marchal said: “We are a narrative studio and we continue to make narrative games that push the boundaries of the medium and really try to… attract more people to games. . ”
With a wide array of talent with studio experience in the industry, including Quantic Dream and Sony, what the team is most passionate about is the story. “We’re all studio storytellers and we love what we do,” says Marchal.
Charu Desodt, production director of Interior/Night, thinks Marchal echoes the innovation in the genre, believing that “it’s about innovating on the narrative playing field”.
When asked about the willingness to experiment with AR or VR and unique ways to control games, it’s clear the team will be happy to take it on if the story justifies the experiment.
“We always start with the script and the story, then we create,” says Desodt. “And that’s part of my challenge: we create the best way to tell this story, the pipelines and the team that we need. So yes, from what Caroline wrote, I’m up for the challenge.
Later this week, we’ll give you more insight from the Interior/Night team in our big interview. Keep your eyes peeled for more on As Dusk Falls and the future of the studio.
