Frogwares on Thursday launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for its upcoming game Sherlock Holmes The Awakened. And the Ukrainian team was able to celebrate quickly as the requested amount of €70,000 was raised in about 6 hours. But this is not the end of the matter, and shortly after that, the authors announced that they would start adding so-called additional goals.
On Friday we saw the opening of the first of five. More specifically, it’s a feature called Metagame that rewards you for carefully researching things like outfits, concept art, and other items. The amount requested was $110,000 and the sponsors received it the same day.
Therefore, the developers published a second goal – $ 160,000. When we reach this number, we can look forward to playable excerpts for John Watson. They’re already in the prototype stage, but Frogwares say they probably won’t make it into the game without financial help. Just over $125,000 has been raised at the time of writing, with 28 days left on the campaign.
Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is out on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. The game will be released next year, according to the date on Kickstarter even in February.
