FNAF, or Five Nights at Freddy’s if you prefer its official name, has finally teamed up with Silent Hill thanks to a new horror game available now to PC gamers via Steam. But don’t say I didn’t warn you, it’s not for the faint of heart.
Created by DarkStone Digital, developers of indie horror games like Kohate and Our Secret Below, Mortuary Assistant sees you as the eponymous undertaker who is called to work late at night when your boss messes up his work schedule. . I know what you’re thinking, but that’s not what’s scary about this game.
The FNAF angle comes from the fact that you’re basically stuck overnight trying to do your weird and scary homework until you’re released in the morning. The corpses must have their jaws covered with wire, their veins pumped with embalming fluid, and their various parts repaired and rebuilt, as poor Mike Schmidt seeing Fazbear’s hideous animatronics roam the night shift is bound to do a job that would be terrible at best.
But of course it doesn’t stop there. Soon faces appear in windows, figures slither out of the corner of your eye, and this terrifying creature that looks like it’s made of chalk and plaster – you’ll know what I mean when you see it – starts chasing you, and everything gets very dark and very dark. psychological, Silent Hill, very fast. I’m not bragging, but I’m usually not that into horror games: Alien: Isolation, Inside, Amnesia, PT, I’ve tried them all. But there are some things about Morgue Helper that I really have a hard time dealing with, and it’s not because I don’t like being called in to work on the weekends.
