Diablo Immortal PvP games are out of reach for a whaler after spending $100,000 to upgrade their character in Blizzard’s free-to-play RPG, preventing them from participating in the Immortal Rite of Battlegrounds or Exile clan competition.

Youtuber and Diablo Immortal streamer jtisallbusiness says he spent a total of “48 to 72 hours” queuing to play Battlegrounds, with each attempt ending without a match. Apparently this is doubly frustrating, as the clan led by jtisallbusiness recently won a Rite of Exile battle on their server, securing them as the ruling Immortals – jtisallbusiness repeatedly receives prompts telling them to “prepare to defend your reign” while playing on the battlefields. only to find out that Battleground matches are unavailable.

The Rite of Exile match itself is also problematic. The Immortal clan, led by jtisallbusiness, should defend their domain on their server, but when jtisallbusiness goes to the Rite of Exile entrance to register a clan, they are again not offered the option to join or schedule a PvP match. Suspecting that this might be a problem with his own account, jtisallbusiness tried to leave his clan or transfer leadership of the clan to another player. However, they cannot do any of these activities, which means that neither jtisallbusiness nor other members of his clan can register for the Rite of Exile event.

Jtisallbusiness suggests that of the 300 clan members, 30-40 have spent at least US$1,000 on upgrading their characters since achieving immortal status. If a clan is unable to register for the Rite of Banishing, their rivals will simply run into a group of NPCs, giving them a potentially higher chance of claiming the crown of Immortals.

As for their own character, jtisallbusiness says that they spent $100,000 on Diablo Immortal and suggest that the reason they currently can’t find a PvP match is that they “spend a ton of money early on” meaning they played “100 undefeated battlefields. . This huge win streak may have increased jtisallbusiness’s matchmaking rating (MMR) against other players on their Diablo Immortal server, meaning the game is now unable to match them up with the correct opponent.

jtisallbusiness states that they were considering requesting a refund for the money they spent on their character and said, “If this character can ever be in BG [battlegrounds] again, I don’t want this character.” They also claim to have contacted Blizzard Support through their forums and on Twitterand indicate that the developer has acknowledged that the problem is “MMR based”. PCGamesN has also contacted Blizzard regarding this story and will provide updates as they come up.
