The Steam Survival Fest 2022 game list is out now and if you’re looking for the best survival games at a good price, this might seem like the best place to look. So it was! Like, like, something like. Steam’s latest sale is a bit weird, listing dozens of awesome and popular survival games, but at full price. Games like No Man’s Sky, Terraria, and Valheim are not yet discounted for this event, and while it seems like a missed opportunity, there are some gems to be found.
Rust is one of them at a discount of $19.99. It is a vast and deep survival game that combines PvP experience with open world exploration where you can and must do everything to survive. It could mean building relationships with others and building survival gear, or it could revolve around exploring the industrial skeleton of an extinct civilization, sniffing out secrets underground and under the waves that might get you through one more night.
Facepunch recently released a major update that completely overhauls Rust’s weapons and makes combat more enjoyable and intuitive. It’s only been a few months since the game’s big update, so now is probably the best time to try it out.
State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition is another decent survival game, and “Juggernaut Edition” is a strong differentiator. You may have heard that State of Decay 2 was just “normal” when it was released, but the Juggernaut Edition is much better.
It includes all the DLC along with many improvements including better graphics, improved controls, and a new map. There’s no end to zombie survival games, but State of Decay 2 blends survival with base building so perfectly that it’s hard to pass up, especially for just $10.14.
