The new Truck Simulator 1.45 update has been released with improved multiplayer mod support for games on both sides of the pond. Euro Truck Sim 2 and American Truck Simulator have been updated to version 1.45, and among the highlights is a fix that allows players to join a convoy in multiplayer games without having to download all the mods used by the host player.
Developer SCS Software explains that the team has implemented “a solution that allows you to join convoy sessions without having to make all the necessary changes to the host session.” He points out that in most cases you won’t see mods that aren’t in your game, but for some things that are necessary (like a player driving a modded car model) you’ll see a colorful placeholder area.
The update also includes a few more realism-focused tweaks, including a rain sensor that can automatically adjust wiper speed on the fly based on feedback, and the ability to hide red “X” barriers that indicate an impassable section. Of the road. SCS adds that “we encourage players to be careful and follow the right path, as the invisible barriers will still exist and will appear for a short time if you encounter them.”
Additionally, players will now be able to purchase their own tanker trailers (including silos, dry cargo tanks, and fuel tanks) instead of renting them by delivery. Both games also feature more dramatic localization updates, although they obviously differ for each version.
As for the United States, Cody and US-14 have been added to the Wyoming DLC for American Truck Sim, allowing players to experience the beauty of Yellowstone National Park. Across the Atlantic, Hanover ETS2 is receiving a complete overhaul with a new city layout and the inclusion of Hanover Messe’s iconic “almost 1:1 scale” shopping area.
