Minecraft mods are constantly pushing the limits of what’s possible, but keeping up with all of them can be tough. After all, new ones like Mi Alliance are constantly coming out. Fortunately, the good folks on Reddit love to show off intriguing stuff, and that’s how we discovered the Immersive Portals mod, and now we’re sharing it with you.
Ninjadud posted a video on Reddit showing off his “Cursed House,” which is a small shack on the outside with a large estate on the inside. It’s an amazing little clip, and if you want the full experience, you can check out the video on his YouTube channel that features it. Of course, there is a hack to all of this, and that hack is the Immersive Portals mod.
Immersive Portals is a mod that was originally released in 2019 but has been frequently updated since then. The mod is based on the Fabric API and adds some cool features. The most obvious of these is the ability to see through portals, which makes everything seem much more connected. However, you can also make your portals horizontal or have a different shape.
You can also play with mirrors, create double-sided portals to the outside world, and even wrap around the world using special portals that let you repeat space endlessly for warping effects. It all depends on how you decide to use it, but you can read all the possible uses of the mod on the wiki.
In less flimsy news, the upcoming add-on allows players to cast spells by drawing symbols in the air, which we think is pretty cool.
