Soulframe – everything we know about the next release from Warframe developers

If you believe it, Warframe developers Digital Extremes will release a new game in the future called Soulframe. Yes, that’s right, the team behind the ever-popular action-RPG MMO is developing another game. With the developer describing this new game as a sequel and more like a side game, there’s a lot to look forward to. That’s why here’s everything you need to know about Soulframe – including release speculation.

Why do you want to know something? Everything you need to know about Soulframe? The Washington Post spoke to former Warframe director Steve Sinclair (who is currently working on this new project) and it sounds like it’s going to be a very exciting game.

Warframe is a unique flesh mechanical twist on the sci-fi genre; Soulframe will be a fantasy version of fantasy. If you liked it and let’s be honest, who doesn’t, read on and we’ll tell you all the details we know so far about the interesting new MMO RPG.

Soulframe Release Date Speculation

At this point, Soulframe doesn’t have a solid release date to speak of, and we don’t think we’ll be gone for a while. Development on the game appears to be just getting started, as you can see in this tweet about Sinclair’s decision to work on Soulframe.

With that in mind, we’d be surprised to see this game in 2023, let alone 2022. 2024 seems like a more reasonable estimate at this point.

Everything we know about Soulframe’s genre and setting

Although there is a significant lack of knowledge when it comes to Soulframe, we do know quite a bit about the genre and setting that players can expect from Digital Extremes in this new game.

When Soulframe was announced, the development team released a six-minute cinematic trailer on YouTube. As you can see below, Soulframe will tackle high fantasy – however, it also looks like it will retain some of the slick sci-fi aesthetic that has always been present in Warframe.

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly where this game got its inspiration from, but we can say we’re obsessed with how it looks and can’t wait to hear more. In an interview with the Washington Post mentioned above, Sinclair explained that “the game will focus on themes of nature, restoration and adventure, inspired by works like Princess Mononoke and The NeverEnding Story” – that doesn’t really seem like a lot. despite. both work as far as we can see.

Where to play Soulframe?

Nothing has been officially announced, but the original PC version of Warframe was followed by console versions on current and next-gen consoles. So… we expect to see something similar for Soulframe – perhaps only on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (1 month) Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (1 month) microsoft $14.99 $1.00 Buy now Network N receives commissions on qualifying purchases through Microsoft and other programs.

How will Soulframe play?

We don’t know much about Soulframe’s gameplay, but Sinclair gave a bit more insight in the aforementioned Washington Post interview.

“[Soulframe] It will share Warframe’s focus on cooperative player-to-environment combat and procedurally generated environments, but it will be Warframe’s mirror universe version… where Warframe has focused on shooting, this time in focusing on the scrum. Where Warframe is super fast and insanely fast, it will be much slower and heavier.

In addition to Sinclair’s comments, creative director Geoff Crookes also made the following comments.

“There will be procedural behavior in the nets and crevices of caves, and so on underground… [Soulframe will have] Don’t focus on exploration that Warframe never had.

How much will the Soulframe cost?

Like Warframe, the current understanding is that Soulframe will be free-to-play at launch. Things can change though, so it’s best to take this with a little salt until we know more.

Well, that’s all we know about Soulframe – hopefully we won’t have to wait any longer. In the meantime, if you’re looking for something to play, you can find the best PS5 games and the best Xbox Series X games here – or at least our take on them.
