Ubisoft Immortals Fenyx Rising is getting a spin-off

In December 2020, Ubisoft brought us the well-received action adventure Immortals Fenyx Rising. Now renowned insider and journalist Jeff Grubb has come on his Games Mess Decides podcast with the information that Ubisoft Quebec Studios created his spin-off.

Grubb points out that he deliberately does not call the project a direct sequel, because the new addition should be different from the original game in many ways. The game has draw from Polynesian and Hawaiian culture. But some god still has to tell the story. The title is also intended to be more distinct from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which Immortals Fenyx Rising is often compared to.

However, the characteristic stylization must still be preserved. Grubb adds that development is currently underway at the pre-production stage and the final game, which currently has the working title Oxygen, may not release until 2025.

As for Ubisoft, in recent days we have also seen the postponement of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and the cancellation of four Ghost Recon Frontline-led games.
