Build a Rocket BoyFounded by Leslie Benzies, ex-GTA producer and ex-head of Rockstar North, the studio is working on an ambitious project. Everywherestrengthened their ranks by recruiting. three veterans gaming industry: Mick Hocking as President of Development, Murray Pannell, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, and Randall Price as President of Publishing.
Mick Hocking was vice president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe from 2011 to 2016. He was also the co-founder of Evolution Studios, the studio behind Driveclub, MotorStorm, and various episodes of the WRC series, where he worked until its closing. before moving on to Codemasters.
Murray Pannell served as Vice President of publishing for the European market at 2K and was previously the Marketing Director for SCEE, Ubisoft and Xbox. Randall Price was NCsoft’s senior vice president of publishing for four years, and previously worked for Guild Wars studio ArenaNet for 15 years.
Build A Rocket Boy was founded by the former president of Rockstar North. Leslie Benzies Under the name Royal Circus Games in 2017. Later, the name was changed to Make a Rocket Boy, as Rockstar threatened legal action for the acronym for Royal Circus Games (RCG) being too similar to Rockstar Games (RSG), resulting in the original name change. In 2020, Build A Rocket Boy raised £32 million in funding for its first project, the open-world sci-fi Everywhere.
Benzies commented: “Since 2016, the Build A Rocket Boy team has grown quietly, and today we are delighted to welcome Mick, Murray and Randall into the studio. Each brings a tremendous amount of experience, knowledge and passion to Build A. Rocket Boy as we continue to develop Everywhere and look forward to announcing more from the team in 2022.“.
Little do we know, other than Everywhere will be using the Unreal Engine for now, and Build A Rocket Boy’s goal is to “create new worlds and ways to play.” Some alleged footage of the game was leaked to the internet recently.
