AMD could develop its own Nvidia RTX voice GPU technology

AMD may be preparing a voice alternative to Nvidia RTX, and it will allow Radeon GPU owners to “communicate without distraction”.

Dubbed AMD Noise Suppression, Nvidia’s RTX voice technology was first discovered by Reddit user CrazyDaveyboy because it was accidentally shown off in a YouTube video (via Tom’s Hardware). The clip in question is now labeled “private,” but a sharp-eyed Redditor was able to take a few notes.

The new setting will appear in the Audio & Video tab of the Adrenalin driver, and enabling it will install a new virtual audio device on your gaming PC. Crazydaveyboy’s summary also states that it will use machine learning for suppression, which means probably AI to clean up audio, such as Nvidia RTX’s voice.

In general, we’d recommend taking the leaked graphics card specs with a grain of salt, but since this particular tidbit was spotted in an official AMD video, the tech’s arrival seems likely. If it happens, it will help streamers and gamers improve the sound quality of their gaming PC, especially if their gaming desk is in a common room.

However, we do not know if AMD Noise Suppression is supported on all Radeon GPUs. Nvidia RTX Voice works with older GTX graphics cards and is now simply called “Denoise” in the Nvidia Broadcast app. AMD’s efforts to bring FSR support to older cards suggest you won’t need to buy an RDNA 3 card to use noise reduction, but we’ll have to wait for their official announcement to be sure.
