Destiny 2 demo is scheduled for August

The Season of Ghosts is in full swing in Destiny 2, and players are currently enjoying the Summer Solstice event. But the seasons always change, and Destiny 2 Season 18 is set to release next month, with a sneak peek revealing what’s next for the sci-fi MMO.

The next Destiny 2 demo is scheduled for August 23, which also marks the end of the current season and the start of Season 18. The latest issue of This Week at Bungie includes a short sneak peek with another ominous voiceover from the mysterious entity known as the Witness. .

“The Children of the Sun cry out for salvation,” says the witness as we see footage of the Black Pyramids, the shadow-shrouded Wanderer, and Emperor Calus’s nightmare-infested Leviathan. “You promised them life, but brought only death, as you have done to many before. Enough. Enough of death. Enough life. You have no more pieces to place.

“We’re excited to show you what’s to come,” Bungie Community Manager Liane Ruppert wrote on TWAB. “Who knows, maybe we’ll even have a few surprises in this proverbial round.”

With only a month until the unveiling, Rupert warns fans that the weekly updates won’t make any major announcements. There will be the usual updates on what’s happening in Destiny 2, but we won’t be hearing about any new features or changes to the game for the next few weeks.

However, Bungie is offering a small preview of Season 18, namely that the Banshee-44 Tower Armorer will offer higher reputation rewards. Starting next season, you’ll earn double Gunsmith Reputation for completing Contracts, and the number of Reputation Points you’ll earn from looting Legendary or Exotic gear will increase from three to five.

“In general, we want interested players to be able to reset Banshee-44’s reputation at least once a season,” says Destiny 2 economic manager Joshua Kulinsky.

This is yet another reason to hit the road and start collecting all the loot you can get your hands on.
