Quantic Dream reviews its best and worst moments: “It’s sad to read things that aren’t true”
Speaking to 3DJuegos, David Cage recalls some of the most difficult situations at the studio.

In an exclusive interview with Founder and CEO David Cage, we take a look at some of the team’s best and worst moments. Talking about the most bittersweet moment, Cage was clear on this: The harassment charges that Le Monde and Mediapart faced in court were declared innocent in 2021.
There are sad moments when you read certain things in the press and you know they are not true at all.David Cage“There are sad moments when you read things in the press when you know they’re not true at all, and you talk to your team about it and they tell you the same thing: none of it is true,” Cage recalls. And yes, it’s sad. No, I know why people have to tell these kinds of stories. What can you do about it? You are trying to explain to people who you are, you are trying to preserve the values that define you. You’re trying to explain that 25 years and your team was there too, so cohesive and committed to work, that wouldn’t be true if Quantic Dream wasn’t the right place to be. But yes, it was definitely a sad time‘ he concluded.
But he wasn’t left alone in the team’s most sensitive moment: Cage wanted to preserve some of the moments that marked him as the artist and boss of one of the most important development teams on the continent: “As I look back over the past 25 years, so many beautiful and positive things have happened on our crazy journey, not just for me, but for me. I think it was great for the studio to share it with everyone (…) First date with David Bowie was a magical moment. Or the first time we saw our game in a store, it was unforgettable: You spend all these years on something and suddenly you see it in a store, and it’s an incredible feeling.”
David Cage, who worked in the music industry before he became a video game developer, was also impressed when he visited one of the major Beatles temples in London: I was the only one from the studio with the musicians and it looked like they were playing for me, and it was an incredible moment. It was also great to have Elliot Page and William Dafoe. and honestly, the relationship with all the actors in general and the ones from Detroit in particular was great. I remember unforgettable moments when Connor and Hank’s actor was on set.”
