For a battle royale game with lots of moving parts and consistent content updates, Raven Software does a good job of balancing Call of Duty Warzone. Of course, we still discuss the Warzone meta from time to time, and the list of best Warzone weapons doesn’t change very often. But that doesn’t mean it’s frozen. Some of the best Warzone gear before an update can be useless after it – sometimes it is. Fortunately, the ever-talented “JGOD” is here to guide us through a re-analysis of the current melee meta following Warzone’s latest Season 4 weapon balance update – and there are two weapons that stand out. stand out from the crowd.
What are the two close-range “meta hunters” described by JGOD? H4 Season 3 Blixen and Season 4 Marco 5 – two rapid-fire submachine guns that can hit hard in a tight spot. If you’re a regular visitor to Caldera (or any of Warzone’s smaller maps), you might already know that both of these SMGs are good. However, JGOD took a look at the numbers and revealed how great they really are compared to other close-range options.
So if you’re into close combat, it might be worth checking out the best Marco 5 Warzone gear and the best H4 Blixen Warzone gear – and what JGOD has to say – below.
“It’s meta,” says JGOD defiantly of its review of Marco 5 and H4 Blixen. “Anything else or any other weapon you want to get is not a commodity. They are both very good options, they have very good TTKs and are in the right place in terms of movement.
The weapon build that JGOD chose to share in the video for both SMGs – as you can see below – is quite similar. Just like the H4 Blixen, the Marco 5 uses Recoil Booster, Mark VI Skeletal, Taped Grip and Quick. Interestingly, Marco uses 5 Subsonic ammo, while the H4 uses Blixen Hollow Point rounds.

One interesting thing that JGOD mentions when explaining how it tunes SMGs to find the best close-range options in Warzone is the “damage per magazine” of each weapon. While nearly every weapon in Warzone has some sort of extended magazine, JGOD pointed out that each weapon’s damage output per magazine can be key in determining its success – because as simple as that sounds, “you’ll have to reload.” .. that’s the part that always kills you”.
However, if you’re looking for something beyond the meta, we have some gears based on JGOD’s recommendations. Check out this Type 100 Warzone gear, Weaponwar 43 Warzone gear, and MP40 Warzone gear. All great options that should deal enough damage to lead you to victory in Warzone.
