Genshin Impact 2.8 has finally been released and to celebrate the new Summer Fantasia event, you can earn free primogems by watching or streaming the game on Twitch – here’s what you can get and how you can get it.
According to the official HoYoverse announcement, the broadcast will take place from July 14 to August 7, although registration is now open. During this period, if you link your HoYoverse account to your Twitch account, you will be able to receive Plague, Enchanted Ore, and valuable Primogems just by watching special Twitch-drop-enabled Genshin streams.
15 minutes of viewing will earn you 20,000 mora; 30 minutes wins four consecration oils; 60 minutes gets you five mystic mineral upgrades; 90 minutes brings you the spirit of three heroes; but the real prize is the 30 bonuses you get for watching 2-hour drop-enabled streams. Simply follow Twitch streams labeled “Drops enable” and be sure to link your HoYo and Twitch accounts ahead of time.
But if you want to get in on the action and earn some extra goodies, you can stream Genshin yourself and score hundreds of goodies in the process. Start by registering for Event 2.8 – you will need to link an email to your HoYoverse account and then create a Genshin Impact Global UID. Connect everything to your Twitch account and be sure to stream on the Genshin Impact Twitch channel between July 14 and August 7.
Six hours of streaming for the duration of the event will earn you 200 buffs. Stream three more hours, nine total, and you’ll earn an additional 200 gems. Increase that to 12 hours and you’ll get an additional 400 gems.
Basically, if you stream for 12 hours in total, you will earn 800 gems. Yuck. Numbers are heavy.
You’ll also be rewarded for concurrent viewers – hit 50 and you’ll have 1,200 primroses to keep. The authentication and verification period for the event runs from August 8 to August 24, and you won’t receive your rewards until 30 days after it ends, which means you can expect to receive your gifts by the end of September. However, you still have plenty of time to enjoy the Sumeru region with new Dendro users and find out what’s mysteriously going on with the Harbingers.
