Valorant is testing a new system for detecting the Smurfs

Almost every one of us at some point, while playing regular or even ranked matches in various online games, met players who are breathtaking in their abilities. Of course, from time to time a truly gifted newcomer would appear. However, most of them were Smurfs. That is, individuals who temporarily left their main account, started a new one and either tested new heroes on it without a significant penalty for their main account, or helped their friends, or simply ruined the gameplay with other precise interference. Riot Games already had some pretty fundamental problems with this part of the community, especially in ranked matches, and so they decided to give it a try, at least in their competitive first-person shooter Valorant..

As part of patch 5.01, Riot Games will begin testing, in which it will collect indicators of new accounts and thereby slowly distinguish real newcomers from veterans who simply play for inexperienced ones. The game should then send these smurfs into their ranks where they will be placed as equals, effectively preventing them from ruining the experience for less experienced players.

Of course, the update brings a number of other novelties. You can read them in detail at official website of the game.
