V Rising is a fantastic vampire game, but perhaps the sticking point for some players is the Diablo-style top-down camera angle. This updated V Rising mod could easily change that by adding first and third person camera options, essentially creating a survival game version of Skyrim or Elden Ring.
The V Rising camera has been around for a while, but it has gone through many changes, improvements, and bug fixes since its original release, to the point where it is now pretty straightforward and incredibly easy to set up. Take the BepInExPack and paste the contents of the folder into the main V Rising Steam folder, then put the Modern Camera mod .dll files into the new “add-ons” folder in the BepInEx folder.
Then download V Rising, play on any server other than the official one, then scroll your mouse wheel to zoom in on the camera. You can stick with the third-person MMO style or jump right into first-person Ark: Survival Evolved.
I tried it out, and while the combat was a bit more difficult, it felt like a first-person MMO like Elder Scrolls Online, with a shortcut bar at the bottom of the screen for abilities. To be honest, I could imagine myself playing all of V Rising like this, even if the draw distance is short (of course).
