Those of you who have been looking forward to Splatoon 3, we can’t wait to hear the latest from Nintendo’s secret lab ahead of Splatoon 3’s release date later this summer, but now a new Nintendo Switch release on the The splattastic OLED game theme sent us into overdrive.
Announced via a video on Nintendo’s official YouTube channel, the Nintendo Switch OLED Splatoon 3 Edition is one of the best-looking special-edition Switches ever released. It includes a blue Joy-Con and a yellow Joy-Con with engraved logos and graffiti from the Splatoon universe. The colors are also ordered to turn blue into purple and yellow into green – inkastic.
The Splatoon 3 Edition OLED Switch will also have a dedicated slot. Similar to the Joy-Cons, it’s also a light gray color with a large yellow patch on it, etched with Splatoon iconography. If you watch this and think it sucks, you’re definitely an Octoling spy.
But that’s not all. A Splatoon 3 Pro controller has been announced. It has blue and yellow grips and is covered in marks, but it doesn’t look much different from the Splatoon 2 Pro controller from five years ago. Nintendo also announced a Splatoon 3 carrying case that will feature a similar teal design.
The Nintendo Switch OLED Splatoon 3 console will be released on August 26, 2022 and will cost $359.99. The game will not be included.
