FFXIV 6.18 Patch Released Today With New Worlds And Data Center Courses

Patch 6.18 for Final Fantasy XIV was released today and contains the most significant changes, including new worlds for the Japanese and European RPG servers, as well as the additional ability to move your characters between data centers.

Two new Chaos Worlds and two new Light Worlds have been added to the European servers, and a new Meteor Data Center has been added to the Japan region. The long-awaited data center travel system has also been implemented, allowing players to travel to other data centers and play with family friends. Players visiting other hubs will have the word “traveler” added to their ID tag and will be subject to various restrictions.

Legendary and Virgin Gathering Grounds are not available to roaming players. Similarly, minions cannot be summoned or hired, and you cannot post items for sale on the Foreign Data Center Market. Linkshells cannot be formed or attached, nor can PvP teams. It is also possible that the data center you have chosen is not available; As stated on the official Final Fantasy XIV Twitter, if your destination world is overloaded or “overloaded”, it will be temporarily disabled as a destination.

Patch 6.18 also brings PvP rebalancing. Dark Knight’s base bloodshed power increased from 4000 to 6000. Similarly, Gunbreaker’s blast power increased from 6000 to 7000.

Other classes have been slightly weakened. Ninja Seiton Tenchu’s open effect is now only effective for eight seconds, up from ten, and the Dark Mage’s barrier strength has been reduced from 16,000 to 12,000.

Square-Enix says in the patch notes that it’s planning “a number of tweaks for patch 6.2, including additional changes to the rate at which the cap bar fills for each task, as well as damage modifiers.” They also posted full details of all the PvP changes for 6.18.

Patch 6.2, titled “Buried Memory,” will be released in late August and will introduce a new island sanctuary where players can collect materials, build houses, and care for animals.
