Darkmoon Faire returns to WoW with a DDR-style dance minigame

World of Warcraft World Events is a curious beast that’s hugely exciting for new players and a boring carousel of recycled content for jaded veterans of a decades-old MMO game. That said, Blizzard generally tries to include new content with every time change, and WoW’s Darkmoon Faire in July is no exception.

The Darkmoon Faire in World of Warcraft is perhaps one of the darkest regular events. Instead of a large-scale celebration that spans every city, the fair is held in one place, a low-key carnival that characters from all over Azeroth can teleport to for a little fun. Like any fair, the Darkmoon Faire is packed with games and entertainment, including slots, concerts, roller coasters, and various daily mini-games like Whack-a-Gnoll or Test Your Strength Machine.

All of these trips generate reward coupons that can be redeemed for transmog items, pets, mounts, and toys. The grand prize is the Darkmoon Airship, a beautiful (albeit crooked) purple airship. However, it is better to have fun at the fair, because he costs a whopping 1,000 tickets.

That’s all well and good, but the latest attraction in WoW’s answer to Alton Towers and Faire’s biggest draw is the Darkmoon Dance Contest, a DDR-style minigame where you take on NPCs in a rhythm battle. casual.

We say DDR, but it’s really basically an animated version of Simon Says. The NPC performs a chain of flowing movements, which your character must then mimic. For your wacky skills, you can earn nine different achievements for various dance rewards, as well as a Dance Dance Darkmoon toy (we see what you did there, Blizzard), which activates a stage where you can show off your hot stuff.

Although the Fair is held monthly, every year it receives new attractions. Update 8.3.0 introduced Mechafun Arcade, bringing half a dozen new mini-games to Darkmoon Island. Roller coasters were added in patch 8.1.5 that provide experience and reputation boosts after riding.

If you just need more vanity in your life, you can earn money by watching WoW esports finals, or if you’re more serious, start planning your Dragon Priest build with Blizzard’s priest talent roundup.
