It hasn’t been a great week for survival game The Day Before, as controversy over the developer’s use of unpaid workers saw it lose its most popular game title on Steam, Cyberpunk 2077 with a cat. ‘Tramp game.
Stray may be a cyberpunk game, but it’s unusual even by its standards: In addition to having to survive in a city entirely populated by robots, you play as a cat. This fun premise, coupled with an impending release date of July 19, has helped Stray climb the Steam wishlists, and it’s now at the top of the list. Cats like high places.
Until this week, it was second only to The Day Before, but now Stray is the next most popular game on PC. It may have something to do with the debacle that The Day Before team used “volunteers” and developers to defend these methods, but that would be an understatement of Stray – it feels like an incredibly fun and unique adventure game.

As for The Day Before, the game’s port for Unreal Engine 5 has been postponed until 2023.
