The Genshin Impact 2.8 special brought us a Sumeru special trailer that teases the local rainforests and structures, as well as some long-awaited details about Genshin Impact’s new location. In one of the seven regions of Teyvat, players have been eagerly waiting to visit Sumeru and meet all the new Genshin Impact characters coming from there, and it looks like the opportunity is drawing near.
The new teaser shows just a small snippet of Sumeru, with lush rainforests, overgrown mountainous areas, giant flowers, and some of the region’s magnificent buildings adorned with rather whimsical glass. Keen eyes may even spot what looks like the desert region of Sumeru in the background of the final shot.
Players of the free-to-play Hoyoverse have likely already encountered various NPCs from Sumeru during their adventure, but the ability to get there will likely arrive with Genshin Impact 3.0. There are rumors that several characters from Sumeru will appear with the arrival in the region, including Collei, who is said to be one of the first playable characters from Dendro in Genshin Impact.

Elsewhere in the 2.8 special, we get details of the Genshin Impact Heizou banners for the upcoming Anemo character, who will be the first Catalyst user in the anime game, as confirmed during the show.
